A scientist and sage with an empath’s heart and intuition, Ursula’s unconventional approach marries the sciences of positive psychology and intentional change with empathy, intuition, a heavy dose of humor and - more often than not - a bit of glitter and glue. As the Founder of the SheHive, Ursula helps women seeking social connection and self-empowerment discover “life on the other side of should” through one-on-one and group coaching. Through the SheHive's organizational consulting arm, Ursula helps Detroit-area organizations develop their top talent and engage their workforce through team building, individual and group coaching and in the design of change initiatives. Her clients range from small, Detroit-area nonprofits to large, Fortune 500 companies. She is currently contracted to an international automotive company focuses on leadership development and employee engagement. Prior to founding the SheHive, Ursula contributed sixteen years of her life to strengthening regional philanthropy in Detroit - pioneering the uses of digital media, integrated marketing, strengths-based organizational development and employee engagement at United Way in Detroit. Her award-winning programs resulted in both an EFFIE and a Gallup Great Workplace Award and now serve as models for the United Way system. Ursula was instrumental in the social media tidal wave which helped Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan overcome considerable obstacles along his first-term path to election in 2014. She served as the voice of Mayor Duggan online and coordinated his social media campaign. In addition to her volunteer work with the Duggan campaign, Ursula has served on the Boards for the DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan, East English Village Association and Friends of the Alger Theater in Detroit. Ursula holds a Masters of Science in Positive Organizational Development and Change, as well as certificates in Executive Coaching and Emotionally Intelligent Leadership from Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management. A former Detroiter (and always a Detroiter at heart), Ursula lives in Oakland county, Michigan, with with her husband, Bryan, and a gaggle of pets. She loves telling a good story, lunching with the ladies, road trips, pigeon pose, cherry cordial ice cream and an abundance mindset. |
