Brand Manager. Digital Communications Specialist. Executive Director. Network Manager. These are all titles that Jackie Zimmerman has held throughout her career
Multiple Sclerosis and ulcerative colitis patient. Blogger. Nonprofit founder. Chronic illness veteran. Patient advocate. Roller derby athlete. These are also titles that she proudly carries.
Jackie has been in the patient advocacy game for over a decade and has established herself as an authority on chronic illness, patient-centric healthcare and patient community building. She’s worked with clients that span from independent coffee shops to healthcare companies to global corporations, but all roads always seem to lead back to helping individuals. In 2018, she finally dove in and started working for herself at Queen of GSD (Getting Shit Done), where she hopes to continue to use her powers for good to work with great women, powerful organizations and inspiring patients.
She has made a habit out of turning lemons into lemonade and living her favorite tagline, which is “choose your own adventure.” The adventure that Jackie is currently pursuing puts her side-by-side other women in business, assisting them with brand management, visual content creation and distribution, and event planning.
Jackie has a bachelor’s degree in graphic design and a master’s degree in library and information science.
When she’s not at the SheHive, she’s playing roller derby, outlining books she has yet to write and snuggling her four rescue animals and her husband, Adam.
You can connect with her online at Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.
