Fall is such a lovely time of year - I love watching the trees change color on my daily commute, pulling sweaters out of the back of my closet, and cozying up with a hot cup of coffee. The natural transition of the season usually lends itself to taking stock before the end of the year. I know it does for me. This season I have landed myself a new job (thanks to some help from Career Coach and KeyHolder Heather Coleman-Voss and my pals in the F*ckery! Toxic Workplace Support Group), but I want to make sure that I take care of my mental health while taking on this new role. So, while I know that I’ll want to be spending more time at home hibernating with my books and Netflix until the sun returns, what I know I need to make time for is taking care of myself. Make sure you make yourself a priority, too.
When we take care of ourselves, it can feel selfish, but how can will fill up others with empty reserves? One of the ways that I take care of my emotional and mental health is with events at the SheHive. When the struggle is real to become a hermit, I remind myself that there is a place where I WANT to go and meet other inspiring women. I stay connected to my tribe in the F*ckery! Toxic Workplace Group, or meet new friends at the upcoming Badass Ladies Super Club Hayride trip, or register for any of the other badass classes listed on the schedule this week to make new connections! Go ahead and check them out; heck, bring a friend along and get her out of the house, too! Stay connected this fall and find your tribe at the SheHive. Comments are closed.
