For decades, staying in balance was a top goal. I wanted to work and play hard, although for a while I found it difficult to play. For whatever the reason, it was easier to seek a level of peace. Then something changed… Have you ever shifted perspective after spending significant time around like-minded individuals? That’s what happened since I joined the SheHive. I play a lot more now! Oftentimes, a purposeful shift brings flow into our lives. One of my mantras for 2019 is, “If it doesn’t flow, the answer is no.” When I’m resonating with life, I experience little resistance. Doors open, opportunities pave my path, life feels great! When I am in a personal flow, I’m able to preserve my energy, rather than fighting tooth and nail for things to work out. I usually (not every minute) love the work I do. However, even work can become mundane, so shifts may be necessary. Something NewA few years ago, I signed up for a business “start up” class. I was considering founding a non-profit that would teach kids about environmental issues. I love the idea. At the time, it was difficult at best to get off the ground. So I tabled that plan and continued brainstorming ideas that would solve a problem for others and create a whirlwind of motivation within me. I landed on an idea that is the cornerstone of my existence, that being to do “Something New”. For years, I’ve had a goal to do something new at least once a month, every month. Over time, friends and family have asked to participate, or requested ideas that change up their routines. Changing your life from blah to blissful is another way of leaving the metaphorical hamster wheel behind. It pays to have something to look forward to! A few of my “something new” goals were to:
All of these things and many more are done! It never stops, once the proverbial ball starts rolling that is. Badass Ladies Supper ClubOne of my jobs at the SheHive is to facilitate the Badass Ladies Supper Club. We don’t meet for dinner! Every month or so, we gather for an event that the previous group of participants voted for from their bucket lists. Our last meet up was at a local martial arts and kickboxing studio. I calculate that smiling faces, laughter, and sweat means we had a successful “club” outing. The group voted to try an aerial silk yoga class for our next adventure. Look for details about that, soon! I also teach classes and workshops. My next workshop at the SheHive will include a complimentary deck of “something new” themed self-care cards that I’ve created, and can’t wait to share! I’m also seeking feedback! A bridge that inspires and motivatesLifelong learning and community-building are essential for me. I have been an educator since 1995, and always will be. Whether I’m presenting to children or adults, my mission is the same. I seek to be a bridge that inspires and motivates others to keep going in the direction of their dreams. This could mean taking your next best step or several. Once you create the momentum for a dream or ideal goal, you are potentially creating flow. Align your plans with your dreams and see how that feels! This in part is what we call self-care. I’m all for it! It creates a better, more balanced world! What inspires you? What inspires you? I'd love to hear all about it! Drop me an email at hello@theshehive.com or leave a comment below.

YOU inspire me, Lisa! I’d love to take more risks..find more joy..feel more in the flow. I’ve had a challenging year with health issues and just as I made it over a huge hurdle and thot I’d “be back” face one more. Being patient is a challenge for me..but I’m inspired every day when I see your bright smile on FB and learn what you’ve been up too...hope to see you soon! Thank you!💚 Comments are closed.
